Toh Soon Cafe is a small side street cafe situated in the folds of Campbell Street. This cafe has always been a hit with the locals all this while, especially their varieties served for breakfast and tea time. Even the current Penang CM, Mr Lim Guan Eng was seen patronizing this place too.

Toh Soon café already operated 60 years, it likes the entire famous Hong Kong restaurant full with news report along the walls of the café, and this café no exception as well. During 2008, the Chief Minister of Penang state take a visit to the café, as his visit reported on the newspaper, and the signboard of the café clearly showed behind of the Penang State Chief Minister. Not only that, Hong Kong Actress visit the café as well, and this make the famously of the café extended until overseas country.

The son of the café took business from the beginning of 1998, as this is a family business. As he spoke that, the business was passing until my generation. Therefore, we have the responsibility to continuously maintain the business until the following generation.

Any set of toast or bread with 2 half boiled eggs and a cup of coffee is somewhere around RM3.80 to RM4, a reasonable price if you ask me. The uniqueness of Toh Soon’s toasts is the preparation method by using a super old charcoal stove.

Packed nasi lemak placed on each table. Yummy yummy!!

The homemade Hainan coffee. Thick, aromatic and deliciously addictive. It still remaining the taste as the 60 years ago, with the traditional coffee.

This is the charcoal stove used by Toh Soon. Basically has three compartments: top for steaming bread, middle for the charcoal to burn and bottom for toasting bread.
