Cameron Highlands is a beautiful holiday destination and the only place where you can find tea plantations and strawberries in Peninsular Malaysia. At 5,000 ft (1,500 m) above sea level it is the highest area on the mainland, and enjoys a cool climate, with temperatures no higher than 25 degree Celsius and rarely falling below 12 degree Celsius year round. Actually, Cameron Highlands is a district in the state of Pahang Darul Makmur. The size of the whole Cameron Highlands district is roughly as big as two and a quarter Singapore.
There are many sight and things one can do in Cameron Highlands. To complete your sightseeing, travelers should visit the Cameron Highlands famous for its tea plantations, vegetables, flowers, cactus and beautiful rose garden. Attractions include jungle walks and waterfalls. Bird-watching and trekking are also popular activities there.

This is an amazingly scenic tea estate open for visitors to view the tea processing factory; travelers may want to go for the factory tour before proceeding to the tea shop. Guided factory tours are provided free of charge to show how the tea leaf is processed.
There have tea and souvenir shop and audio visual center. It uses to be a simple tea shop, but has since been renovated to include a shop selling the Bharat tea besides selling nice hot cup of tea. Enjoy a cup of tea with your friends and family overlooking beautiful views of the tea plantation on an elevated platform.
The cool weather makes it not only ideal for growing tea, but also the many varieties of vegetables. It is not surprising can find many vegetables markets selling farm produce. Traveling around Cameron Highlands, you will be able to see many farms located in various places. In order to maximize the land usage, some farmers has shifted their agriculture to organic farming to provide for a growing niche of health concious consumers who do not mind paying extra for eating safer organic vegetable products.

One of the popular tourist spots are the vegetables market selling the local farm produce. Most notable is the Kea farm vegetables markets located about a few kilometers north of Brinchang. Whole area of the Kea farm is just one big vegetable market garden! Many of the veggies are pack in plastic bags, and they give offers like 5 bags for a certain amount of dollars.
Cameron Highlands is a leading producer of flowers in Malaysia, be prepared for a lovely sight of extraordinary flowers you would not see flourishing elsewhere in Malaysia. Fresh flowers are cultivated in the highlands and are a leading export product. Flower farm can be found located on the hilly inclines bordering the main road in Brinchang. Blooms like roses, chrysanthemum, carnations, dalia, geranium, fuschia, gladioli and 'everlasting flowers' are grown at the farm.
Besides,a newly built tourist attraction with numerous types of cactus. Its hillside location makes for interesting viewing of the cactus and other plants which include Strawberries, Roses, Apple & Peach trees, Orchids, Cherry Tomatoes etc.
There are a number of strawberry farms in Cameron Highlands. Always worth a visit for their novelty value and the chance to taste strawberries and ice cream! Some strawberry farms will let you pluck your own strawberries and charge you according to the weight.
A night markets at Brinchang is must visit. Night markets is apart from the usual vegetables, fruit, flowers, tourists can also find souvenirs at there. The night market starts as early 3pm when traders will start to set up their make shift stalls. It is available only on Weekends, public holidays and Malaysia school holidays.
When travelers pass the road to Cameron, you are able to see the houses of orang asli. The Orang Asli are the indigenous people who dwell in the forest of Peninsular Malaysia. They have their own stall selling the handicrafts. Besides, they hunt for foods such as birds and little monkeys by blowing their blowpipes. This blowpipe is made of bamboo, while the mouth piece is made of dammar.

Travelers can visit to the bee farm when go Cameron. The most famous bee farm at Cameron which is Ee Feng Gu has already gone through 3 generations, therefore it is very experienced in this field. In addition to that, many local and international bee farmers have came to gain more experience and also exchange opinions on how to look after the bees. Furthermore, after years and years of hardship, Ee Feng Gu has now expanded the bee farm to a larger of space.
There is an important note that we like to emphasize on is that although the bees have poisonous sting, but it is always under tight control and it would not simply sting anyone. Therefore, it is very save and encourageable to bring along children so that they can learn more about the nature of bees and honey.
