Go green campaign - “My Lil Green, My Home”

KAMPAR : Public Relations students organized a "Go green campaign" with the team name “My Lil Green, My Home” to promote environmental awareness among the peoples. This campaign attracts around 200 Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman students.

In this campaign, the remarkable "lil green house" was creatively furnished with old newspapers and cardboard boxes made of furniture. This had not only inspire students but also brought out a strong environmental message to them.

Chairman Chia Ugene said: “Although awareness of environmental protection is falling, we try to increase and develop the awareness for student, let them gain more information and the important for the environmental protection.”

He added that government’s publicity activities and corporate with parents and school authority together promote the environmental protection activity.

“The main purpose in this whole concept is to let more people have the awareness of environmental protection, because it is very important to our life in the future,” he said.


This furnure items from the “lil’ green house” were created out of old newspapers and old boxes.


 Old magazine and boxes were also used to make handicraft looks anew.


Newspaper rolled up to be thicker at the base, practically used for sitting.

On the same day, the campaign organiser did not only provided information but also taught students to make simple and practical decorative ornaments as well as items that can bring out an environmental protection message, such as piggybank, flower pots, paper box, pen container, photo frame and so on.
To make this event more exciting, they invited local artists Miau Miau and Croix to perform other than local singers including Hau, Diana Liu, Mint G.
Artists had brought a lot of performance, and the highlight of the day was performance by local artists Miau Miau and Croix as their jokes brought laughter to the audience.
